This city is located in northeastern Brazoria county. It was founded in 1876 when the railroad was built through it, which connected Galveston with Richmond. The city is named for its founder, Alvin Morgan. Agriculture and oil-related products have sustained the economy for years. However, with its strategic location in the southeastern Houston metropolitan area the city has become a center for diversified industries. An abundance of parks offer places for picnicking and, with the gulf coast right by, beaches are easy to find as well.
