Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park
Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park is the headquarters of the World Birding Center, features a hawk tower, bird-feeding stations and observation blinds on 760 acres, allowing visitors ample bird-watching options as well as a glimpse of Mexico. Edinburg Scenic Wetlands
Edinburg Scenic Wetlands offers various forms of wildlife viewing on its 40 acres. Winding trails and lagoonside platforms enable visitors to view native birds, butterflies and other flora and fauna in their natural habitat. Hidalgo Pumphouse
A 45-minute guided tour takes visitors through the restored 1909 pumphouse. The original steam pumps and other machinery used to irrigate 40,000 acres of the Rio Grande Valley around Hidalgo are preserved here. International Museum of Art and Science

Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge
