The city of Humble is located just east of Houston Intercontinental Airport. It was named after the founder, postmaster and Justice of the Peace, P.S. Humble in 1886. Oil near the city was discovered in 1904 and the town boomed. In 1909 a local feed store owner, Ross Sterling, along with a few others founded Humble Oil and Refining Company, now Exxon / Mobile.

This12-acres of water park is highlighted by the Master Blaster, a water coaster that sends its riders uphill. This is the site of the 1989 Texas Track Championships. The 33.334-meter track is banked nine to 33-degrees. Located in Cullen Park, 19008 Saums Road. Allen's Landing at Old Market Square
This park is located on the Buffalo Bayou where the Allen brothers arrived in 1836 to promote their new real-estate venture. The Houston General area, now Old Market Square, became the center of this new city. Several of the important 19th-century buildings have been restored. The square is now devoted to dining and entertainment. This area is bounded by Travis, Milam, Congress and Preston Streets.
Alley Theater

American Funeral Service Museum
Nation's largest collection of funeral service memorabilia, including two dozen vehicles: horse-drawn hearses, a funeral sleigh, 1941 hearse/ambulance, and of special interest, a 1915 Packard "mourning bus" that carried the casket, pallbearers, and 20 mourners at a top speed of 15 mph. Art Car Museum
This museum features custom decorated cars that have whimsical motifs. These include such crazy ideas as a Honda motorcycle in "The Red Stiletto," or a VW diesel known as "Rex Rabbit", which is a giant polyester bunny. Bayou Bend Collection
This collection is operated as a branch of the Houston Museum of Fine Arts. The site is a 28-room Latin Colonial structure that was the home of the late Miss Ima Hogg, who was the daughter of James Stephan Hogg who was the first native-born governor of Texas. Byzantine Fresco Chapel
This museum features 13th Century frescoes from the island of Cyprus. One of the ancient frescoes depicts the Virgin Mary and another, a dome fresco that took four years to restore, depicts Christ as the ruler of all things. Houston Tunnel System
This transportation wonder is the largest indoor, air-conditioned pedestrian tunnel system in the world. The 7-mile system of underground tunnels and skywalks includes a variety of shops and more than 100 restaurants. In total, it connects 65 buildings and three hotels together in the downtown area. This site, adjacent to the city's northeast limits, is the site where Texas won independence from Mexico on April 21, 1836 and because of this is claimed to be the Birthplace of Texas. Tranquility Park

Wortham Center
The Wortham center contains two theaters for the Houston Grand Opera and Houston Ballet. It also hosts productions of the Society for the Performing Arts, the Gilbert & Sullivan Society, Texas Chamber Society and other notable theater groups. The 3.2-acre site is bounded by Texas, Smith and Preston Sts. and Buffalo Bayou.
