Visitors to the area will want to recall the history of Route 66 and visit the businesses, museums, and historic sites that were a part of that era, some still in operation today. Adrian Lions Antique Museum
The Adrian Lions Antique Museum features antique farm and ranch equipment, including a Caterpillar Combine used in the 1930's, horse-drawn equipment & early tractors. Located on the Old Ozark Trail that became Old Route 66 through early day Vega, one block west of the bank. Find Best Western Vega lodging nearby.

Antique Ranch
The Antique Ranch is a newly opened business that has converted a Rt. 66 garage into a warm and wonderful antique shop and eatery. At one end, the shop hosts antique furniture. At the other, you are served real Texas Bar-B-Q and fixins. Call 806-538-9944 for more information.

Dot's Mini-Museum
Dot is the curator of her own mini-museum filled with Route 66 memorabilia and western collections from living, working, and collecting on Route 66 since 1941. Dot enjoys sharing her hobby with Route 66ers from around the world. She invites you to come in, sign her guest book and enjoy her collections.

Groneman's Service Center
Remember the good ole days when you would drive into a filling station, the bell would ding and a nice gentleman would come out to your car, smile and ask, "What can we do for you?". Hickory Inn Café
Walk across Route 66 from the Vega Motel to the Hickory Inn Cafe -- not fancy just still servin' up good food on Route 66. If you're looking for a good place to eat in Texas, just follow the pickup trucks. Local farmers, ranchers, friends, and neighbors gather for coffee, ample breakfasts, lunch specials, home-made pies and Hickory Inn's uniquely wonderful pizza. Julian Bivins Museum
Once the courthouse at Old Tascosa in the early days of Oldham County, the museum features the earliest history of Oldham County, Old Tascosa, and Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.

Magnolia Station
The Magnolia Station was the second gas station to be built in Vega in the early 20's. On old Route 66, the tall, thin building stands on the south side of our courthouse. The City is currently working on efforts to restore the station.

Midpoint Café
The Midpoint Cafe has been continuously operating since 1928. The cafe serves great hamburgers, fries, delicious pies and more. The gift shop is filled with Route 66 memorabilia. A must stop for all Route 66 travelers Call 806-538-6379 for more information.

Oldham Country Club
Oldham Country Club's nine-hole golf course is situated on typical Texas terrain and is excellent for beginning golfers. Strategically-placed sand bunkers and water hazards create an additional challenge. Located on Highway 385 South in Vega. Call 806-267-2595 for more information.

Oldham County Heritage Farm & Ranch Museum
Located on Old Route 66, Oldham County Heritage Farm & Ranch Museum is an outdoor display of antique farm and ranch equipment. Through dust bowls and trials this equipment has stood the test of time and use. Features include horse drawn and early motorized equipment, restored tractors, a 1929 threshing machine, and brands from early & current day ranchers.

Roark Hardware
Roark's Hardware is the oldest hardware store still in operation on old Route 66. You get the feeling of walking into the old general store. Now serving the needs of today, you can find construction, farming, and household supplies as well as gifts and toys. Call 806-267-2102 for more information.

Route 66 Café and Club
The Route 66 Cafe and Club is noted for good food and fun. Also known as "Anita's Cafe" as it starred the movie "What Matters Most". Members of the Thunderbird Club enjoyed an unusual game of darts here during the 70th Anniversary of Rt. 66 celebration. It's a great place to get your kicks on Route 66. The Bent Door Café
The Bent Door was a unique 24-hour Route 66 cafe, souvenir shop and gas station. Never officially named the "Bent Door Cafe", it came to be called that because of the doors and windows that were purchased from an Army Air Force Base after WWII where they had served as part of the control tower. It was a bustling business during the hey-day of Route 66 and has many heart-warming stories. Even as it stands vacant, many people stop to reminisce and take pictures of the building.

The Giles Hotel
The Giles Hotel is a landmark in Adrian. In the early years, the Giles Hotel greeted many a weary traveler. For many years it served as the Adrian Mercantile. Before its realignment, Old Route 66 turned north off the present road, going past the Giles Hotel, turning east on the next street and going to Vega.
